ABOUT ME
As a naturopath, every day is different. The variety of people I meet and the amazing array of health challenges I see are a never ending source of interest. The human body truly is an amazing organism with a great ability to heal itself, given the right conditions.
Each client arrives with a unique set of health concerns, personality and belief system. My goal is to be a supporter and champion, helping each person to find what works for them, not casting judgement. I don't believe in preaching to people. My aim is to help clients to make better choices, by providing useful information and encouragement along the way. On my own journey, I've found that it takes time to understand my own body's signals so I believe in encouraging each person to be patient with their progress and to not be discouraged when they eat a burger or drink a couple of glasses of wine.
Before becoming a naturopath, my work allowed me to travel around the world. Wherever I visited, whether it was the Middle East, SE Asia or India, I was amazed by the different cultural customs, foods, spices and health beliefs. This exposure, combined with diminishing health of my father sparked an interest in understanding more about not only how to treat illness, but how to build health, particularly through nutrition.
Amongst my family and friends, I'm known for my cooking and mountainous supply of cookbooks - I'm not a vegan or even a full blown vegetarian, but I am a true believer that you can feed your body, mind and soul through fresh, local, tasty food. It's a passion and you'll often find me passing on a recipe or two that I've just tested, and of course tasted!
I look forward to meeting you and helping you find your own path to good health.
